Five races · One finish-line goal

Your race-day time window

Finish within your race’s time limit to be recorded as an official finisher. The 10 km, 19 km and 30 km races have no intermediate cut-offs; their deadlines are at the finish.

80 km: an early decision at Sugarloaf

The outward cut-off is 10:30 at 15 km. The existing race guidance cautions that arrival after 10:00 leaves little margin for later cut-offs unless you increase your pace. Assess your progress with the marshals; Djouce Wall at 23.9 km is the next opportunity to take the 46 km route.

Choose the right route for your day

Request a downgrade

Speak to the marshals before taking a shorter route. A downgrade-request opening time is not a cut-off or an automatic entitlement to change course. Follow the marshals’ instructions.

10 km split point
Requests only AFTER 11:30

At 5 km · 19 km runners → 10 km

19 km runners may request a downgrade to the 10 km route here, but only after 11:30.

Below Little Sugarloaf
Requests only AFTER 11:30

At 9.4 km · 19 km / 30 km split

Runners in the 30 km, 46 km and 80 km races may request the 19 km route here, but only after 11:30. Follow the marshals’ instructions.

Djouce Wall
23.9 km · Leave by 12:00

80 km runners → 46 km

If later cut-offs look out of reach, notify the checkpoint marshals and take the 46 km route as directed. Also notify the timing officials at the finish.

You receive a finish time for the 46 km event but are not eligible for prizes.

Know what remains

The final stretch of the 80 km

Sugarloaf → Belmont9.3 km17:30 → 18:50 · 1h 20m

If you leave Sugarloaf at its cut-off, this is the time available to reach and leave Belmont.

Belmont → finish7.3 km18:50 → 20:00 · 70 minutes

Leaving at the Belmont cut-off leaves 70 minutes to complete the final 7.3 km.

Average required from Belmont9:35min/km · about 6.26 km/h

Calculated from the 18:50 departure deadline, including any stops. Allow a margin for terrain and fatigue.

Aim to leave Belmont by 18:30

This gives you 1h 30m for the final 7.3 km, rather than 1h 10m if you leave at the cut-off. Treat 18:50 as the last departure time, not your target.

Race rules

Strict deadlines. Marshal-led decisions.

  • Cut-offs are strictly enforced. Race organisers may change them because of weather or other conditions.
  • Organisers may remove a participant who cannot make the cut-offs or on health and safety grounds.
  • A shorter route may be offered where the course layout permits. Follow the marshals’ directions.
  • You cannot continue on your own after official retirement or after the race has ended.
  • If you doubt you can safely complete your chosen race within its time limit, arrange a shorter distance in advance. The published advance-change deadline is before 1 September.
